FAK single point load cell overview

The FAK is a compact aluminum single point load cell designed for accurate weight measurement in bench scales, retail scales, postal scales, and small platform weighing systems. As a single point cell, it is engineered so that loads applied anywhere across the platform surface produce an accurate, consistent reading — making it the ideal choice for off-center loading applications where a standard bending beam or shear beam cell would produce errors. The FAK mounts via four M6 threaded holes and supports a maximum platform size of 250 x 300 mm. Available in 10 kg and 30 kg capacities, it is a direct drop-in replacement for the most widely used single point load cells from Rice Lake, Tedea, HBM, and others.

Technical notes

Installation and mounting

The FAK mounts via four M6 threaded holes and supports a maximum platform size of 250 x 300 mm. The cell body must be mounted on a flat, rigid surface. The platform attaches to the top face of the cell. For best accuracy, the mounting surface and platform must be flat and parallel — warped or uneven surfaces will compromise the single point correction and degrade off-center load performance. No summing junction box is required since a single FAK cell handles the full platform area.

System integration

The FAK operates at a rated excitation of 10V DC/AC (15V max) and produces a 2.0 mV/V analog output signal. It is compatible with any standard weight indicator, PLC analog input, or load cell conditioner accepting a mV/V bridge input. Cable length options are 13 cm, 35 cm, and 275 cm to suit different enclosure and build configurations.
