FDI-02-SS bidirectional force measurement indicator overview

The FDI-02-SS is the stainless steel, wash-down rated version of the FDI-02 bidirectional force measurement indicator. It shares the same high-performance measurement core — 1,200 Hz sampling, over 1,000,000 internal counts of resolution per mV/V, and independent tension and compression calibration curves — but is housed in a stainless steel NEMA 4x/IP65 enclosure built for harsh, wet, or corrosive environments. Rather than AA batteries, the FDI-02-SS features an embedded 100-hour rechargeable battery with a charger included, making it well suited for extended portable use in field testing, production, and quality control environments. Key features

The FDI-02-SS brings the full precision force measurement capability of the FDI-02 into a stainless steel enclosure designed for demanding industrial and field environments.

1	Stainless steel NEMA 4x / IP65 enclosure Housed in a fully stainless steel NEMA 4x/IP65 rated enclosure, the FDI-02-SS withstands wash-down, moisture, dust, and corrosive environments that would damage a standard aluminum/ABS instrument.

2	Embedded 100-hour rechargeable battery Features an embedded rechargeable battery with approximately 100 hours of continuous operation, with battery charger included. Eliminates the need to source and replace AA batteries in the field.

3	Bidirectional tension and compression measurement Independent calibration curves for both tension and compression loading modes, with up to 7 calibration points each. Accurate bidirectional readings without any reconfiguration between loading directions.

4	Peak and valley capture modes Automatically captures and holds peak and valley force values during dynamic testing. Essential for impact testing, proof load testing, and any application where maximum or minimum forces must be recorded accurately.

5	High-speed sampling up to 1,200 Hz Selectable 2 to 1,200 Hz sampling rate with over 1,000,000 raw counts of internal resolution per mV/V. Captures fast-changing force events that standard 10 Hz weighing indicators are not capable of detecting.

6	Quick Cal mode and configurable filtering Quick Cal mode enables live calibration on hydraulic and electromechanical systems without taking the load cell out of service. Configurable averaging filter and auto-zero maintain accuracy across varying conditions.

Technical notes

Installation and connectivity

The FDI-02-SS connects to any standard mV/V load cell via its 14-pin load cell cable. A full-duplex RS-232C serial port supports data output to computers and printers for logging and reporting. The embedded rechargeable battery and included charger mean no disposable batteries are needed, making it practical for extended field deployments.
