BSH Series Single Module overview

The BSH Series Single Module is a complete weigh module kit built around the BSH stainless steel hermetically sealed bending beam load cell. Each kit ships with all the hardware needed to build a weighing mount — the load cell and all associated mounting components are included in one package, ready to be assembled and configured to suit your specific installation. Because vessel geometry, structural support designs, and process requirements vary widely, the module is supplied as a self-assembly kit rather than a pre-built fixed assembly. Available in capacities from 30 kg to 300 kg, the BSH Single Module is suited for tank weighing, hopper scales, vessel weighing, and process batching applications where a robust, hermetically sealed stainless steel cell is required. The BSH load cell's hermetic welded stainless steel construction provides excellent protection in harsh and washdown environments. The BSH Series Single Module is the interchangeable replacement for weigh module assemblies built on the Rice Lake RLHBB, Tedea 355, HBM Z6, Revere SHB, Scaime F60X, Cardinal CB6, and Celtron HBB bending beam load cells.

Typical applications

The BSH Single Module is specified for vessel, tank, and hopper weighing applications where a self-contained kit with all mounting hardware simplifies procurement, and where the hermetically sealed stainless steel cell is required for durability in harsh or wet environments.

Tank and vessel weighing

The BSH Single Module is well suited for single-leg tank and vessel weighing installations where one module supports a corner or leg of a vessel. The hermetically sealed BSH cell withstands the moisture, cleaning agents, and condensation common in food, chemical, and pharmaceutical tank weighing environments.

Hopper and batching systems

Suitable for hopper and batching scale installations where multiple BSH Single Modules support the legs or mounting points of a hopper or bin. The 30 to 300 kg capacity range covers a wide variety of small to medium batching hoppers in food processing, chemical blending, and industrial filling applications.

Harsh and washdown environments

The hermetically welded stainless steel construction of the BSH cell makes this module suitable for demanding environments including food processing washdown areas, outdoor installations, and chemical plants where moisture ingress would damage a standard load cell over time.

Belt scales and packaging systems

The BSH Single Module is also suitable for belt scale and packaging system applications where the bending beam cell provides stable, accurate output under dynamic or continuous loading conditions. The complete kit simplifies integration into custom conveyor or packaging line weigh frames.

Process weighing and control

Used in process weighing applications where consistent, reliable output is required over long production runs. The BSH cell's tight rated output tolerance of 2.0 mV/V ±0.1% ensures that multi-module installations stay well balanced, reducing the need for frequent junction box trimming.

OEM and custom weigh frame builds

The BSH Single Module kit provides OEM scale builders and system integrators with all the hardware needed to mount a BSH cell into a custom weigh frame, without sourcing components separately. The kit is compatible with existing installations built on the Tedea 355, HBM Z6, Rice Lake RLHBB, and other equivalent bending beam cells.

Assembly and installation

The BSH Single Module ships as a complete kit with all mounting hardware included. Assembly is required on-site to suit each specific installation — vessel geometry, structural support configuration, and leg spacing will vary between applications. Because the module is self-assembled, it can be configured to match a wide range of tank, hopper, and vessel mounting requirements. For multi-module installations (3 or 4 modules per vessel), each module should be connected to a summing junction box to balance the signals before connecting to the indicator.

System integration

The BSH cell at the core of this module operates at a rated excitation of 10V DC/AC (15V max) and produces a 2.0 mV/V analog output signal, compatible with any standard weight indicator, PLC analog input, or load cell conditioner accepting a mV/V bridge input. Ships with a 3 m cable. The cell is temperature compensated between -10°C and +40°C, with a safe operating range of -10°C to +70°C.
